Do I need special hardware to use VoIP Direct?

No. You can use our service through our mobile app (iOS and Android), our desktop application, or a standard web browser. If you prefer a physical desk phone, we support most SIP-compatible IP phones, including brands like Grandstream and Yealink.

How long does it take to set up my new phone system?

If you are getting a new number, you can be up and running in minutes. Once you select a plan and choose your number, you can immediately start making and receiving calls through our app.

How does the AI Voicemail Transcription work?

Our built-in AI Assistant automatically listens to your voicemails and converts them into accurate text. You can receive these transcriptions via email or view them directly in your mobile app, allowing you to stay informed without having to stop and listen to audio messages.

Does VoIP Direct offer an AI Auto-Receptionist?

Yes. Our AI-powered IVR (Interactive Voice Response) acts as a virtual receptionist. It can greet your callers professionally, provide basic information, and route calls to the correct department or employee based on the caller's needs.

Can I get call summaries and transcriptions?

Yes. On our Pro Plus and Platinum plans, you can utilize AI to transcribe entire phone calls. This is perfect for keeping records of client meetings, ensuring accuracy in project details, and training your team.

Can I use my personal mobile phone for business calls?

Yes! You can install the VoIP Direct app on your personal iPhone or Android device. This allows you to carry your business line with you wherever you go without needing a second physical phone.

Will my personal and business calls get mixed up?

No. The VoIP Direct app uses its own distinct dial pad and notification system. When a business call comes in, it is clearly identified within the app, keeping your personal life and business professional and separate.

Can I have multiple phones ring at the same time?

Yes. Our "Ring Group" feature allows you to configure your system so that when a customer calls, it rings on your desk phone, your mobile app, and even your business partner's phone simultaneously. The first person to pick up gets the call.

Are there any long-term contracts?

No. At VoIP Direct, we believe in earning your business every month. All of our plans are month-to-month, and you are free to cancel at any time without any "break-up" fees or penalties.

How can you provide such low prices compared to major carriers?

By utilizing a cloud-based infrastructure, we eliminate the high maintenance costs associated with traditional landline companies. We operate on high volume and pass those savings directly to our Canadian small business partners.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a transparent 90-day refund policy. If you make a deposit and decide the service isn't right for you, we will refund any unused pre-paid balance upon request for all deposits made within the last 90 days.

Are calls to the US and Canada included?

Yes. Calls between Canada and the US are considered local on our network. Depending on your plan, you will have a generous bucket of minutes or unlimited calling (available on our Pro Plus and Platinum plans).

Where are your servers located?

To ensure the lowest latency and highest reliability, we maintain a network of servers across Canada and the United States. As a Canadian company, we prioritize data routing that keeps your communications fast and secure.

 

What happens if my internet goes down?

Because our system is cloud-hosted, your phone system never truly goes "offline." If your office internet fails, you can still receive calls on your mobile app via 5G/LTE, or we can automatically route calls to an external backup number.

 

Do you provide E-911 emergency services?

Yes. We provide E-911 services for customers in Canada and the United States. It is important to keep your physical address updated in our system so that emergency responders can locate you if you call 911 from your VoIP line.
